ASSAR Ghana team participates in the Water Security and Climate Change Conference in Cologne, Germany
October 2, 2017

The Water Security and Climate Change (WSCC) conference was held during September 18-21 in Cologne, Germany.

Dr Elaine T. Lawson of the Ghana team of the Adaptation at Scale in Semi-Arid Regions (ASSAR) program presented a poster on water scarcity as a barrier to food security and climate change adaptation for women farmers in semi-arid Ghana.

Also contributing to the poster were Ghana team members Abdul Rauf Zanya Salifu, Charlotte Wrigley-Asante and Rahinatu Sidiki Alare.

The poster focused on groundnut farmers, a majority of whom are women, and isolated the drivers of vulnerability and the adaptive responses adopted in a water scarce landscape.
