Due to international travel restrictions, the Global Observation of Forest Cover and Land Dynamics (GOFC-GOLD) program is planning a series of virtual meetings to keep the GOFC Regional Networks vibrant and active in the year ahead.
So far this year, researchers in the South Central and Eastern European Regional Information Network (SCERIN) convened on January 21-22 for a two-day seminar on ‘Bark Beetle Damage’ in the region.
The Mediterranean Regional Information Network (MedRIN) met on February 25 for their Annual Event to discuss updates in the region and hear briefs from new and current members alike.
Both meetings were productive and meeting reports and presentations will be available at the above links in the coming weeks. The two networks are also planning a joint virtual meeting and training to take place in June 2021.
The GOFC West African Regional Network (WARN) is slated to meet next and plans to hold a regional workshop later this month.
