Climate System Analysis Group (CSAG) course: Using climate information for adaptation and policy development

The Climate System Analysis Group (CSAG) based at the University of Cape Town will be running its annual course: Winter School: Using climate information for adaptation and policy development, from 2-6 July 2018.

This 1 week intensive course has been developed specifically for participants from developing country and aims to take participants through the full spectrum of climate and climate change related topics. These include understanding:

  • Climate dynamics
  • Risk and vulnerability framing
  • Climate modelling theory
  • Climate change projections
  • Climate adaptation frameworks
  • Downscaling methods
  • Adaptation planning, policy and decision making

This course is of benefit for professionals who are dealing with decision and policy development incorporating climate and climate change issues within many sectors including Government Departments and Ministries, City Councils and Local Municipalities, NGO’s, corporate organizations and environmental consultancies.
