Capacity Building Workshop: South-Central European Regional International Network of the Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics (GOFC-GOLD)
April 26, 2018

SCERIN (South-Central European Regional International Network)  is one of the regional networks of the Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics(GOFC-GOLD) panel of the Global Terrestrial Observing System program for observations, modeling, and analysis to support sustainable development.

SCERIN is an informal network of scientists and other professionals based in the region or with scientific interests in the SCERIN area. The SCERIN geographic domain encompasses Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, the Danube watershed and western Black Sea coast.

SCERIN contributes to GOFC-GOLD and has strong linkages with the Northern Eurasia Earth Science Partnership Initiative (NEESPI), which are programs of internationally supported Earth System Science research.

SCERIN-6 Capacity Building Workshop (CBW)

Focus: Land Cover Dynamics Precursors of Land Cover Changes in SCERIN

Dates: June 11-14, 2018

Location: Zagreb, Croatia

SCERIN-6 will discuss the current Land Cover (LC) dynamics in the SCERIN region to identify the typical pre-cursors of Land Cover Change, consider our ability via remote sensing to monitor their significance and influence on the environment and biogeochemical cycling.

SCERIN-6 CBW will facilitate capacity building and will be held in coordination with a Trans-Atlantic Training (TAT5) for graduate students and young professionals.
