ASSAR Ghana team participates in the Water Security and Climate Change Conference in Cologne, Germany

The Water Security and Climate Change (WSCC) conference was held during September 18-21 in Cologne, Germany.

Dr Elaine T. Lawson of the ASSAR Ghana team presented a poster on water scarcity as a barrier to food security and climate change adaptation for women farmers in semi-arid Ghana.

Also contributing to the poster were Ghana team members Abdul Rauf Zanya Salifu, Charlotte Wrigley-Asante and Rahinatu Sidiki Alare.

The poster focused on groundnut farmers, a majority of whom are women, and isolated the drivers of vulnerability and the adaptive responses adopted in a water scarce landscape.
