Implementation of the project Assessments of Impacts and Adaptations to Climate Change (AIACC) benefited from the collaboration and support of numerous persons and organizations. A tremendous debt of gratitude is owed to Robert Watson who, as Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) during the Third Assessment Report, was a primary catalyst for developing and championing the proposal that led to the AIACC project. The insights and guidance of Osvaldo Canziani and James McCarthy, co-chairs of Working Group II of the IPCC during the Third Assessment Report, were also critically important in forming and launching the project. Rajendra Pachauri, current Chair of the IPCC, and Martin Parry, who has joined Dr. Canziani as co-chair of Working Group II for the Fourth Assessment Report, continued the productive and nurturing relationship between the IPCC and AIACC.
