Supporting Regional Research & Assessments

START is dedicated to strategic place-based regional research that substantially contributes to understanding and addressing critical knowledge needs of global environmental change impacts, risks, assessments, and vulnerabilities within developing regions. Initiatives inform national, regional, and international policy and stimulate regional ownership, fostering integrated, multidisciplinary approaches for adaptation at regional scales. START supports regional research through program such as Grants for Global Environmental Change Research in Africa, Assessments on Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture, Assessments of Impacts and Adaptation to Climate Change (AIACC), CORDEX, Monsoon Asia Integrated Regional Study, and Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN).
