Call for Applications: APRU Multi-Hazards (MH) Summer School

Graduate students and/or faculty participants are invited to the second summer school of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) APRU-IRIDeS Multi-hazards Program.

Multi-hazards Summer School “Handing down disaster experiences and lessons-learnt to the next generation” Tohoku University, Japan, 19-22 July 2016

Major objectives:

  • Understand the mechanism of the international DRR strategy
  • Learn from the experience and recovery process from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami
  • Learn from various DRR projects that have been implemented in the Tohoku region and overseas
  • Discuss the role of science and technology as well as universities in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction
